Steps to reproduce:
Put a Webp image format with alpha channel on a web site.
Actual results:
image filled with a black background
Expected results:
image should have no background color.

What does the link I put in the URL field look like for you? It should take on whatever color you defined under about:preferences#general → Language and Appearance → Colors… → Background.
However, if I right-click and choose "View Image" then I see Firefox applying the same background as the one for transparent PNGs: chrome://global/skin/media/imagedoc-lightnoise.png

It's ok with yours [and mine now, i used Gimp to convert it from png to webp format, and it was probably a bad settings of Gimp ... or i made a mistake somewhere ..]. Anyway it's not a Firefox bug!
