While the original SDK proposal documents our intended design, it is bound to get out of date and is not in an authoritative location.

We should start documenting the metric types in the in-tree docs as we land and change their implementation.

I took a first pass on how we could do this:

This is only covering a super light-weight getting started documentation for events for now.
