RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1524515

People

(Reporter: dirtyoldm, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; rv:61.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/61.0

Steps to reproduce:

Have played with 'Personalization' on Win 10 LTSB 32-bit, incl Registry changes, themes, etc. but Firefox 61.0.1 and previous worked fine for years.
Install Firefox 65, making no other changes: bizarre display corruption.

Tried Safe Mode, Refresh, loud cursing

Radeon X550 128 MB
Driver version probably 3.0.715.0
Downloaded as "10-2_legacy_vista32-64_dd_ccc.exe"
Has worked fine for years, there are no updates for this old video card.

Actual results:

First time FF window opens after install:
Title Bar missing, displayed portion of Firefox window gets smaller with every mouse click, then gone.
Firefox is still running.
The popup box "Firefox is not your default..." looks fine.

Expected results:

Should have looked like a browser!

Correction: Radeon Video driver version 8.593.100.0000
Sorry!

could you provide a screenshot showing the corruption?
perhaps it's a similiar issue (and solution) as bug 1524515 which was caused by some unsupported registry tweaks...

Thank you philipp !!
The fix linked in bug 1524515 works!

I changed HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM\AccentColor to ff0d0d0d and then installed FF 65.0.2.
Problem fixed!

This is not the place for diatribes, but you guys sure deserve one.
