Let's add CFR user preferences to our session ping matrix so that we can determine how people people have opted out.
The user preferences are:
browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.asrouter.userprefs.cfr.addons
browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.asrouter.userprefs.cfr.features
This change will need data review.

Tracking the data to understand how many people opt out for CFR recommendations for features vs. extensions will allow us to evaluate whether to keep these as two different settings, as well as give us an overall sense of the effectiveness of these recommendations.

Comment on attachment 9048980 [details] data_review_request_cfr_prefs.txt DATA COLLECTION REVIEW RESPONSE: Is there or will there be documentation that describes the schema for the ultimate data set available publicly, complete and accurate? Yes. This collection is part of Activity Stream so is documented in its [data documentation](https://github.com/mozilla/activity-stream/blob/master/docs/v2-system-addon/data_dictionary.md) Is there a control mechanism that allows the user to turn the data collection on and off? Yes. This collection is part of Activity Stream so can be controlled through Activity Stream's preferences or Firefox's Preferences. If the request is for permanent data collection, is there someone who will monitor the data over time? Yes, Nan Jiang is responsible. Using the category system of data types on the Mozilla wiki, what collection type of data do the requested measurements fall under? Category 2, Interaction. (these prefs are controlled through user interaction so are Category 2, instead of Category 1 as mentioned in the request.) Is the data collection request for default-on or default-off? Default on for all channels. Does the instrumentation include the addition of any new identifiers? No. Is the data collection covered by the existing Firefox privacy notice? Yes. Does there need to be a check-in in the future to determine whether to renew the data? No. This collection is permanent. --- Result: datareview+
