Early data shows that bug 675539 had a visible impact on the number of nightly OOM crashes:

I haven't seen reports that suggest problems with the feature so I'd like to enable it in beta. The larger population in the beta channel will give us invaluable data on how to tweak the memory detection thresholds to maximize the impact of this feature.
