From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.1a) Gecko/20020611 BuildID: 2002061104 I've seen this several times recently, so I'm fairly certain this is a regression and not an old bug. I upgraded to 1.1a recently, but I'm not sure if this started happening before or after the upgrade. (I was on 1.0final prior to the upgrade.) See the attachment. Sometimes words are written on top of other words. I do not know what causes this. I am willing to help in debugging this, just give me direction. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Load slashdot.org. 2. Scroll down, looking for words on top of other words.
I cut this image from the browser window, in order to keep the image size smaller. The page viewed was http://www.slashdot.org.
Duplicate of a duplicate of a duplicate of a duplicate of a duplicate. I think this is the most frequently submitted bug. I've even done one. This is the second time I've seen it on Slashdot. See bug 148399 which is FIXED
Please note that I did not resize at all when this display problem surfaced. I read bug 148399 and that appears to be about resizing. My observation happened while simply loading the page. (I'm not saying you're wrong, just clarifying what I saw.)
I'm absolutely sure this is a duplicate of bug 148399 - I saw it a lot on slashdot on builds up to 20020613, but I don't see it on 20020617. The overprinting is triggered when a link over-runs the end of a line, which may happen because of a horizontal resize, or it my happen when you first load the page. Ken, can you please try with a build from 20020615 or later, and re-open this if you still see the problem. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 148399 ***

gav@gavncal.demon.co.uk: Okay, I just updated my system to build 2002062208, and resizing Slashdot doesn't display the overwritten text. (Resizing wasn't what caused it, for me; it was simply loading the page, but from your note it appears it could happen either loading or resizing.) So I guess keep this bug closed. I'll keep an eye on it, and if it recurs I'll reopen this bug. Cheers!
