Details

In the current implementation we listen to FxA/Sync events to trigger state changes (switch ping type/reason, get sync ID).

While this works and is reviewed from the FxA side, it might make sense to keep this event observing in FxA/Sync code (https://searchfox.org/mozilla-central/source/services/sync/modules/telemetry.js).

It's closer to where these events are happening and more closely reviewed in case FxA/Sync changes.

We can just call into our Ecosystem code from theirs.
