Details
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows NT 5.0)
BuildID: 2002053012
Thinkpads have a trackpoint (eraser head) pointing device. In addition to the
left and right clicker buttons, there is also a blue button beneath them that
when you hold it down, allows you to scroll in any program by then moving the
trackpoint.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to any webpage.
2. Click and hold the scroll button
3. Move the trackpoint (erasor head)
Actual Results: Cursor on screen stops moving in response to trackpoint (only
while scroll button is depressed) (this is what should happen).
But, webpages will not scroll in response to trackpoint movement when scroll
button is depressed. (they should)
Expected Results: what happens in internet explorar for instance:
When scroll button is depressed cursor stops moving, and instead the webpage
scrolls up and down in response to trackpoint input.
Note: cursor moves again once scroll button is released.
I am still able to scroll webpages by using the scroll bar at the right of the
screen.
Exact same problem occurs in Mozilla 1.1alpha
from bug 20618 :
