Actual results:

Slow response to actions

Expected results:

Expecting instant response, as in other browsers

This is all JS related. Probably dupe of other "JS on gmail is slow" bugs, like bug 1507868 .
ni? djvj to take a look.

I went to go repro this (or at least try), and I realized I don't know what you mean specifically by "selection boxes to action mails". Selecting e-mails seems fast enough (instant). Is there a subsequent action button that's being pressed? Which one?

I'm referring to the check boxes in the inbox view.

When selecting several messages to perform some kind of action (delete, archive etc) there is a delay between mouse click and the check being shown

Hmm, I'm having trouble reproing this on my box, but it's a Linux system. I can't see that this would make a difference unless the issue is somewhere platform-specific in the machine, such as the graphics system.

I tried selecting all e-mails in one go using the top "select all" button, as well as several (about a dozen or two) e-mails individually using the checkboxes on the left. All of the operations seemed to run basically instantly with instant feedback.

Asking generically: Can anyone repro this behaviour on a windows build? Marking [qf] to see if quantum flow triage team can take a look at this more closely.

This affects gmail, so this seems important.

Marking qf:p2:responsiveness, moving to Core: JS Engine.

Also instantaneous for me. Literally feels wonderfully snappy in Nightly 68.
