From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.1a) Gecko/20020619
BuildID:    2002061908

The referenced page is able to popup an ad window regardless of the "unrequested
windows" javascript setting. At first, I assumed it was due to the fact that the
page had a flash-based ad, so I removed the flash plugin (verified via
help:about plugins) and then re-started browser and went back. Still got the
popup (pop-under to be specific).

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start browser
2. Turn off unrequested windows via preferences
3. visit http://eq.castersrealm.com/
*** Bug 153879 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
I reloaded the page a number of time using 20020621 build and never got a pop up
window from it.
They are using a different advertisement on eq.castersrealm.com which doesn't
display the same behavior as before.
I'll mark this invalid as it no longer appears on the page.

I just verified that this behavior is still present, so I'm re-opening. I also
tried disabling JavaScript for that site. No dice. Here's the offending HTML (I
*think*):

<!-- AdSpace size=1x1 affiliate=castersrealm channel=games subchannel=rpg
Network=affiliates rating=g --> <iframe width=1 height=1 marginwidth=0
marginheight=0 frameborder=0 bordercolor=000000 scrolling=no
src='http://mediamgr.ugo.com:80/html.ng/size=1x1&affiliate=castersrealm&channel=games&subchannel=rpg&Network=affiliates&rating=g'><script
language='javascript1.1'
src='http://mediamgr.ugo.com:80/js.ng/params.richmedia=yes&size=1x1&affiliate=castersrealm&channel=games&subchannel=rpg&Network=affiliates&rating=g'></script><noscript><a
href='http://mediamgr.ugo.com:80/click.ng/params.richmedia=yes&UID=$random$&size=1x1&affiliate=castersrealm&channel=games&subchannel=rpg&Network=affiliates&rating=g'><img

border=0></a></noscript></iframe><!-- /AdSpace -->

Another site to try is http://www.civfanatics.com
Another site that uses the new "pop up" method ... www.humanforsale.com. Looks
like the ad companies are catching up with mozilla users :-)
confirming this bug. (the page loads an iframe which calls window.open )

This bug should be fixed when bug 159036 is fixed. (but this is not necessarily
a dupe)

why are developers quicker in working around browser bugs/features
than in supporting W3C standards...? *sigh*
