Fx Mac 68.0a1 (2019-03-28) (64-bit)

Download or navigate to a file, e.g. https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7859/47205297202_f5d7c84cc7_q_d.jpg (13.4 kB)

In the Dialog select "Save file", choose a location on a Samba share. Click "Ok".

A .part file is created in ~/Downloads with the correct file size.
A 47205297202_f5d7c84cc7_q_d.jpg file is created in the destination, its size is 0 Bytes. The Download UI indicates "Failed".

Saving the file to a local drive works. Saving the file with Chrome or Safari works.

Tested in nightly.

Likely we fail the final atomic move, maybe a bug in OS.File with network shares

I'm seeing the same issue as described in Thunderbird 60.6.1 Mac.
Marco Bonardo have you been able to reproduce the bug? The status change would indicate so.

No, but it's plausible considered the steps and architecture involved, regardless someone should find time to reproduce and debug it, so it just makes sense to confirm the report. Unfortunately there's no official team for this component, thus it may take some time before someone actually looks into it. If you're comfortable with debugging and code any help will be appreciated.

Depends on: 1555644

I would expect this to be fixed on current nightlies ( https://nightly.mozilla.org/ ) based on bug 1555644 being fixed on Linux/macOS now. Would it be possible for you to verify if your issue is resolved on nightly?

It's been 2 months since comment #4, so let's resolve this as WFM for now. We can reopen if evidence emerges that this is not in fact fixed.
