Marking a bug's release status as wontfix leads to confusion and sometimes anger on the part of users because they see a bugmail that makes thing think the bug has been WONTFIXed (the discussion of if we should change WONTFIX is a dicussion for another bug and my tatoo artist).

What are terms we could use that aren't wordy, but convey, "not fixing in this release"?

  • later
  • skipping for this release
  • declined
  • not in this release
  • other ideas?
Component: Bug Creation/Editing → Administration

missed?

foxified?

  • We'll need to update all the past and present tracking flags
  • Anyone doing reporting or tooling which uses hard coded values of the status fields will need to update tools
  • We'll also need to update all the bugs

I don't see this as being an issue currently.
It will create significant work (we have tooling relying on the field values) for a small potential gain.
I would rather wontfix this bug.
