Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:66.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/66.0

Steps to reproduce:

In Thunderbird Calendar Tab, when Find Events > All Events is set, click on a recurring event in the calendar view (e.g Month view) from a network calendar (caldav).

[This bug was observed/uncovered while troubleshooting Bug 1502923]

Actual results:

The event does not appear selected in the Find Events > All Events list view.
This issue only seems to happen to recurring events.

This issue was observed in current TB stable version 60.x ish as well as current beta 67.0b1 (32 bits) for Windows.

Expected results:

The event shall appear selected in the Find Events > All Events list view like it does in any other views e.g Find Events > Events in Current View

This feature works fine at all time when other Find Events views (select options) are selected e.g Find Events > Events in Current View (or others).

I was just testing this in 76.0b2 due to a m..support.calendar newsgroup post.

Recurring events probably don't appear in "Find Events" because the original event has a start and end date of the same date and there is no "Recurring" column header for "Find Events"

The example in the post starts on 10/10/2015 and reoccurs monthly until 10/10/2030.
I created it as all day event that started and ended on 10/10/2015.
Saved and closed the event.
Verified it appeared monthly for past and future years.
Checked Find Events > All Events and it appeared only once with the date 10/10/2015 in the Start and End date columns.

I tried editing the original event and setting the End Date to 10/10/2030.
After Saving and Closing the event it populated the calendar daily and froze Thunderbird.
Deleting the calendar-data folder from the profile with Thunderbird closed and restarting fixed that issue.
Imported my local calendars back and all is well.

This is a known error / restriction / limitation (Bug 310853). If you set the search filter to "All Events" or "All Future Events" only the first occurrence of the repeating event will show up in the search results. And if it is in the past it will not show when set to "All Future Events".

Then it's a duplicate?

I would say it is another duplicate of Bug 310853.
