Two runs of mozregression-gui pointed me to the rev referenced above in comment 0.
Maybe win10-specific?: had some folks try to reproduce, MacOS and win8.1 users could not reproduce.
In case it might be graphics card issue: Intel® Iris™ Graphics 540

Backout https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/2ccc6648064315964dd23039ad28ebf7d9f82999 resolved menu corruption issue for me.
It looks like this in current nightly in Win10x64 and on ATI video card (if that matters).

Gonna close this as wfm now that the regressing bug has been backed out, while moving to gfx given that that's where any fixing would need to happen.

bugged_folders_in_menu.pngIt looks like this in current nightly in Win10x64 and on ATI video card (if that matters).
I'm assuming updating resolved this, or it's a different issue, in which case please file a separate bug, ideally with a separate regression window of when this broke on nightly (using mozregression should make short work of that).
