Used 06-27-05-1.0 Mac full build Cancel and OK button are missing for Folder Properties|Sharing Tab Setup: e.g. Account A setup "Read, Write and Manage Privilege Folder" for Account B 1) Login to an IMAP account (Account B) with shared folders setup from other user (Account A) 2) Select the Read, Write and Manage Privilege Folder 3) Select Edit|Folder Properties|Sharing tab Actual Results: Notice that the OK and Cancel buttons are missing for Folder Properties|Sharing tab dialog. Users have no way to select OK or select Cancel to dismiss this dialog. Users need to use "Force Quit" to Quit all app in order to dismiss, and eventually will cause crash at this point. :-( Expected results: OK and Cancel buttons should be available for users to select OK or Cancel to dismiss this Folder Properties|Sharing tab dialog. Additional Info: 1)OK and Cancel are both missing for Read, Write and Manage Privilege Folder from Account B 2)OK OK and Cancel are both displaying for Read, Write Privilege Folder from Account B, but a little be cut from this Folder Properties|Sharing tab dialog. 3)It displays fine for Personal Folder (Full Control) Folder Properties|Sharing tab dialog. 4)It displays fine for Read-only previlege Folder.

I see the OK cancel buttons just fine on my build. I'll download a newer build, but I don't think the dialog has changed any in the last few months
Oh, Mac only. Well, not much I can do about that, obviously. Is this a regression, or is the first time this has been tried on the mac?

Summary: OK and Cancal buttons are missing for Folder Properties|Sharing Tab → Mac-only OK and Cancal buttons are missing for Folder Properties|Sharing Tab
It's only occurring on the Shared "Read, Write and Manage" Privilege Folder since there are more text on that folder dialog, and it makes those two buttons disappear from that dialog. Problem is also occurring on Mac OSX. I saw the similar problem on Linux, but I can resize that dialog from Linux in order to see those two buttons.....
Summary: Mac-only OK and Cancal buttons are missing for Folder Properties|Sharing Tab → Mac-only OK and Cancal buttons are missing on Folder Properties|Sharing Tab for Shared RWM Privilege Folders
so, you could get out of the dialog by clicking on another tab, and the ok/cancel buttons would appear?
On Mac -> Nope. Cannot get out of the dialog by clicking anothe tab: OK and Cancel buttons disappear on General info tab & Offline tab too.....
Could this be related to bug 17121? Karen, can you answer David's question: Is this a regression, or is this the first time this has been tried on the Mac?
I believe that Gayatri means bugscape17121: http://bugscape.mcom.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17121 I don't think this is related to bugscape17121 and this is not a regression. Updating the summary since this is not specific for Shared Folder -- It's Occurring on the whole Folder Properties dialog which including other "General info" tab & "Offline" tab -> Probably should be a general dialog problem when the text is long. Ccing Gary and Olga.
Summary: Mac-only OK and Cancal buttons are missing on Folder Properties|Sharing Tab for Shared RWM Privilege Folders → Mac-only: OK and Cancal buttons are missing on Folder Properties dialog when the text is long
This bug need to be fixed for RTM since on Mac, users cannot resize this dialog to dismiss this dialog and there is no action when selecting File|Quit from Mac, users need to Force Quit and will cause crash afterwards which is very bad :-(
cavin, could you try just making the dialog taller and see if that fixes the problem?
The problem I see (on Karen’s machines) is that the two hidden (OK/Cancel) buttons are right-adjusted to the longest text line. So if you have a long text line then the buttons will be placed to the far right of the dialog, and if the dialog is small (in width) then you won’t be able to see them. On linux you can resize the dialog so you can see them that way but not on the Mac. I think it can happen on windows as well if the resolution is low (I have not tried it yet).
the fix Seth suggests is to change folderProps.xul to use a "description" tag instead of label, and it will wrap. Something like this: <label value="&permissionsDesc.label;" id="permissionsDescLabel"/> - <label value="" id="folderPermissions.text"/> + <description value="" id="folderPermissions.text"/>
Raising the severity to blocker since without dismiss from this dialog, users won't be able to setup Read,Write Manage Privilege for IMAP shared folder with known bug 137862.
Severity: major → blocker
Basically once the privilege of a Shared Folder has been set to Read, Write, Manage, the text is too long and the OK and Cancel Buttons cannot be used for setting any Folder Property - General Info, Offline or Sharing. The Shared Folder Folder Property cannot be changed to shorten the text because of bug 137862.
Severity: blocker → major
I don't understand - doesn't the privileges button still work? I don't believe this is a blocker by any means since there are lots of workarounds.
Can you provide the workaround for Mac with known bug 137862? After select "Privilege" button, how can I bring up the Messenger express window behind the Mail window without dismiss this dialog on Mac? Please note: This is only occurring when trying to set the privilege from "Read, Write, and Manage" Shared Folders on Mac....
sure, go straight to the admin page for the mail server.
nsbeta1- per the ADT. let's get this into a future release.
