It's been a while since bug 573367 and zlib has moved on a little. It's very stable, so I don't think that there is a concrete problem, but we should probably update.

zlib upstream has fixed a clang warning about negative shifts https://github.com/madler/zlib/issues/183
which causes a failure in the default nss build (outside of mozilla) due to Werror

Thanks for landing that JC. For future reference, I ran a build with ./build.sh -Duse_system_zlib=0
on Linux and that was OK. That setting is not the default on any system except Windows, so try won't pick up system-specific errors.
