Install an amo theme such as https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/minecraft-grassy-block/?src=rating

Be in the state where the addons have been marked as incompatible.

Install a build with the fix.

Early discussion is that we don't have any information about the theme state once they are disabled.

Locking this bug down to only users who have editbugs permissions, for now.
Noting in 66.0.4 release notes as a known issue.

For users that get the update without being in the incompatible state theme state is preserved.

Why? We lost the state when the theme was reset to the default. AFIK there is nothing that can be done here. Though if you think we can fix this one of the AMO/addon developers should own re-opening it.
