Attached image Undo+Redo lost!.jpg

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:66.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/66.0

Steps to reproduce:

Tried to "Undo" an accidental Delete action...

Actual results:

The "Undo"/"Redo" function is not available on the Bookmarks left sidebar (Ctrl+B) [context menu], but only at the Bookmarks Library (Ctrl+Shift+B)!

Expected results:

The "Undo"/"Redo" commands should available, though.
Is there any chance to implement it on Bookmarks side-panel (Ctrl+B) [context menu]?
-thx

Undo/Redo is a global command, it would never be available in the contextual menu of a single bookmark... At a maximum it could be available in a menubar or buttons... But there's no short term plan currently.

Thank you very much for your quick feedback.

But, on the other hand, Cut/Copy/Paste+Delete are also global commands and are available in the contextual menu of a single bookmark or at the Bookmarks Library [Organize], as you can see.
Believe me, it causes real frustration to the users the lack of such functions, since that way the contextual menu seems really incomplete-->reduced productivity impact!

Therefore, would be a great idea to implement these commands (at least as long term plan).
-thx a lot

Sorry I meant that naturally you can copy/cut a single entry, but you can't undo an entry, especially if it has been removed, what would you click to undo something that has been removed. That's why those commands are exposed in a window (the Library window). There was an old plan to move the Library to a tab (bug 697359), and move undo/redo to the global window, but that never materialized.
The sidebar currently doesn't have a natural space for these options, maybe it should grow a [...] options menu, or maybe undo(red may be exposed in the bookmarks view of the Library button. It's a user experience question, but currently UX is not focused on the bookmarks experience. When that will happen, these are all things to consider.

Do not worry, I got it ;-)
Yeap, you are absolutely right as for the free space, since stuffing more options would ..."eliminate" any UX/UI good display principals.

But, there is always the choice of grouping similar command options (just like WinRAR did, in their Windows Explorer contextual menu).
Please, you may consider it in the future, since it will really help us, as the end users!

Keep up the good work - thanks :-)

I'm making this a bit more generic, but keeping it around as a placeholder. We surely would like undo/redo to be more discoverable than "you must know the ctrl+z shortcut", so this is a possible starting point

Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
Priority: -- → P5
Summary: "Undo"/"Redo" missing from Bookmarks (left) sidebar (Ctrl+B) → "Undo"/"Redo" for Bookmarks is not discoverable

Thanks very much for ...tiding things up and validating the bug ;-)
Of course, hope to implement such a function, cuz Ctrl+Z is a bit tricky (especially for new users).

Keep up da good work :-)
-thx again
