Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:66.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/66.0
Steps to reproduce:
I disabled automatic updates, it will ask me if i want to update or not. I never updated in the last few weeks. Today after i just started firefox as usual.
Actual results:
After the startup i got a message that "extensions have been disabled". I found out that all extensions have been disabled and that also the search engine has been changed to google.
Expected results:
The software must never do any changes without asking for permission to do so, especially when automatic updates are disabled. Also changing the search engine to the biggest developer of spyware is unacceptable. How can i ever trust mozilla software again?

Please update to the latest version (66.0.4), add-ons should be fixed

After update to 66.0.4 at least the extensions work again, but the search engine was still google. I had to manually change the configuration to the state it was, and delete google again.
