From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.1a+) Gecko/20020626 BuildID: 2002062608 Carried over from bug 46877. CCing Eric Pollmann. If the preference 'browser.block.target_new_window' is set to true, Mozilla does not remember its vertical scroll position when using the Back button after having gone to a link that would normally have opened in a new window were it not for this preference setting. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Browse to http://www.ntcompatible.com. 2. SCroll down the page so that you are obviously no longer at the top. 3. Find a news story with a link that says "Read more." 4. Click on the link. 5. Click on the browser Back button. Actual Results: You are back at the top of the page. Expected Results: Mozilla should have remembered its previous vertical scroll position and put you back there.
This bug could well be closed as WONTFIX before it even starts. See bug 46877 comment 124 and bug 105395 comment 38. My apologies for the needless SPAM.
Closing as wontfix per reporter's comments.
