User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:67.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/67.0
Steps to reproduce:
Installed update to current release 67.0.
No other changes, upgrades, installs or changes have been made to my system. Win10.
Actual results:
Desktop links stopped working. If I open Firefox and enter a URL or use default home page it works and I can then click desktop links which open in a new tab correctly.
Expected results:
Desktop link should open when clicked as previously functioned.
I have a similar issue.
Steps to reproduce;
Install Firefox 67.0 EN-US 64 bit
Set Options
Set my homepage to Google Canada
Actual Results;
Clicked desktop shortcut for Firefox to open and received New Tab instead of homepage (Google Canada)
Expected results;
Click desktop shortcut for Firefox to open and it opens to Google Canada (selected homepage)
Work around for this issue;
I put a check mark in Restore Previous Session and somehow even though it might've been YouTube where I closed Firefox it returns to Google Canada upon opening Firefox 67.0
I suspect there's a bug between Restore Previous Session and Homepage and new windows option.

What do you mean by "desktop links"? Is it a link to open Firefox specifically, or links to open particular websites and Firefox is set as your default browser? Also, do you have Firefox set up to clear data on exit?
- Firefox is the default browser.
- Links are html based shortcuts placed on the desktop which previously would open by default in Firefox when clicked.
- Firefox clears history and cookies on exit.

(In reply to daveo from comment #3)
- Firefox clears history and cookies on exit.
Then I'll mark this is a duplicate of bug 1554167. Feel free to reopen if you can reproduce the issue without that setting.
