Details

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.1a) Gecko/20020611 BuildID: 2002061104 Entering something in the search field and then pressing ENTER should result in either an error message or a search result. MOZILLA does not accept the ENTER key. Is this a bug or a result of security preferences? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Enter "TEST" in the search field 2.Press ENTER 3. Actual Results: nothing Expected Results: error message or search result
I see no search field on that page
While I also see no search field on that page, I have experienced the same problem. It happens on some sites, but not on others. Here's a site you can try, though: http://www.tek-tips.com/ The member login area on the left does not work with the Enter key, while the Search field does. Netscape 4 only allows Enter if there is only one text box, but Mozilla previously allowed it no matter how many text boxes there were. On the other hand, https://mit.imoat.net/stdnt/StudentLogin.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fstdnt%2fStudentHome.aspx works with the Enter key (in Mozilla), even though it has two text boxes.
Dup of bug 150232: enter doesn't submit a form that uses <input type="image"> (an image submit button) and has more than one text field. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 150232 ***

My mistake. When entering the URL I mentioned you get a menu first. Then click on 8. Kirchenbuecher, then the search field appears.
Product: Browser → Seamonkey
