I am getting multiple message a minute from phabriactor about really old revisions (I have seen some from the firefox 38 era). I suspect the maintenance window is causing a bunch of new branches to be imported into phabriactor, triggering herald. At the current rate, I'd expect to get 1000+ messages by the time things are complete.

I've disabled "Publish/Notify" for the repo on Phabricator, which disables notifications/feed/herald for the syncing commits. Hopefully this will prevent spamming and we can turn it back on once the sync has completed. This bug is due to the work in Bug 1549693 Comment 7 which started a couple hours ago.

What happens with all the reopened revisions in Phabricator? Will those be automatically be closed again, or is that all manual work?

Sorry, forgot to follow up here. Sadly this will have to be manual. It appears only revisions that were backed out from repos that require uplift were re-opened, so hopefully not too too many.
