From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.1a+) Gecko/20020702
BuildID: 2002070203
Japanese circled numbers, that is, characters mapped to 0x8740-0x8753
(Shift-JIS) in hiragino kakugo/mincho fonts, do not render correctly.
If you view the page's source they do in that window.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Set Mozilla's font to hiragino kakugo.
2.Go to the URL http://www02.u-page.so-net.ne.jp/dc4/hiro1/mika/making.html
Actual Results: At the very beginning of the page there is a character that
shows up as "!" (this is actually zenkaku).
Expected Results: "!" should render as "circled one ('maru ichi' in Japanese)",
"1" contained in a circle.
Circled one, circled two, circled three... render as zenkaku of "!", """,
"#"..., respectively.
If you set the font to Osaka they display correctly.
However, in Osaka, they map to 0x8540-0x8553.
These circled numbers appear often in Japanese web pages so it is kind of sad
you have to each time realize that Mozilla cannot handle them.

Confirm this when set Japanese font to hiragino kakugo.

This should have been the other way around, but bug 240841 has a little more
useful information so that I think it's better this way.
