After upgrading my local emulator to 29.0.x, the x86 (4.2) avd will no longer start.
emulator.log shows:
emulator: autoconfig: -skin 1024x816
emulator: autoconfig: -skindir (null)
emulator: ERROR: This AVD's configuration is missing a kernel file! Please ensure the file "kernel-ranchu" is in the same location as your system image.
emulator: ERROR: ANDROID_SDK_ROOT is undefined
This configuration is no longer used on trunk, so I am tempted to deprecate it, unless a fix is easy.

(The 4.3 and x86-7.0 avds continue to work with the new emulator.)

Adding an appropriate kernel-ranchu to the existing avd avoids this particular failure, but android hangs on boot. I tried updating kernel* and system.img, but the hang continued. We probably need to re-create the avd entirely.
I wonder if that's even useful though. We no longer run any 4.2 x86 tests on trunk.
:snorp - Thoughts?
I think we can probably just ditch this particular AVD, yeah.

Today this avd is called 'x86-4.2'. It still has the same issues. I'll remove it.

This is a really old avd, no longer used in automation; it is obsolete.
