Steps to reproduce:
Dragged a tab from the only existing Firefox window on display 1 to free space on display 2 to create a new window with this tab in it.
Actual results:
The new window is properly created, but an afterimage of the preview is sometimes (10%-20% of the time, possibly related to how quickly the tab is dragged to the second display) left behind. Shutting down the Firefox process tree does nothing; restarting explorer.exe to redraw the Desktop does nothing. The thumbnail is overlaid on every other window, including non-Firefox windows.
Add-ons, cache, or similar things can't be the problem, because this is essentially a reinstall of Firefox. Also, this bug is exceptionally old—at least 5 or 6 years ago was the first time I experienced it.
Expected results:
No thumbnail should have been left behind.

Just a small update, for what it's worth: about a week or two after filing this bug, I switched to Firefox Nightly and have not been able to replicate it since. It's possible that an unrelated issue fixed it. If no one else has been having a similar problem recently, I think we could safely close this issue.
Another update since it's been 9 months: I can confirm that, while the problem pops up only occasionally, it does still pop up every now and then. When it does, it overlays all other windows except for popups (like Windows' context menu). The only way to get rid of it (apart from restarting the computer) is to restart the Desktop Window Manager.
