As covered by https://github.com/w3c/webdriver/issues/385 we will have to get the HTTP authentication prompt support added. Right now this is blocked by the missing specification.
David, given that with Firefox 67 shipped the workaround in Firefox doesn't work anymore, do you think it would be good to get the proposal as discussed during the last TPAC added the spec now?

We can get it added but not sure anyone has time to do it right now as we have more pressing things that needs doing

That is what I mean. It shouldn't be only us who should get started implementing it. Other browser vendors might have time but waiting for the WebDriver spec update, and could also come up with wdspec tests.

There will be no update until the WebDriver spec has been updated for this addition. See https://github.com/w3c/webdriver/issues/385.
