From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.1a+) Gecko/20020703 BuildID: 2002070308 Page begins to load, then pops up illegal operation message "MOZILLA caused a divide error in module <unknown>". Clicking OK removes Mozilla from the task list, but does not actually close the window or taskbar button. Other programs begin hanging/crashing, and it culminates in the need to manually reset the computer (Windows shutdown or restart don't work). First program to crash after this is VisualZone 5.6.0.2660 (a ZoneAlarm logging program). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. goto http://www.techbargains.com/index.cfm 2. happens during pageload; no further action required Actual Results: Illegal Operation This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. MOZILLA caused a divide error in module <unknown> at 0000:00000204. Clicking OK removes Mozilla from Task List, but window does not close and button remains on Task Bar, though it is non-functional. Other things begin hanging, culminating in need to manually reboot. Expected Results: Page should open and display normally! I haven't set any themes nor done any special configuration--settings are default. MOZILLA caused a divide error in module <unknown> at 0000:00000204 Stack dump attached

wfm, w98, same build id (2002070308). there are bugs about zonealarm, presonally i'd suggest abandoning it. otherwise please get a talkback build (either mozilla-win32-talkback.zip, or select talkback in the installer). media tab didn't hint about any plugins, there's a refresh but 3600 is pretty high. I don't see any reason that you picked layout, so i'm moving this to b-g

Reporter: Do you use a nvidia card ? Is it working if I turn the hardware acceleration 1 or 2 notches (Control Panel->System->Performance->Graphics...)
Very perceptive--yes, I have a Geforce3 Ti200, and if I turn acceleration down 2 notches (1 is not sufficient) to "basic"--1 step above no hardware acceleration--the problem goes away. I'm using the current Nvidia detonator 29.42 video driver. Is this something already being addressed? As to comment #2, I understand there are problems with ZoneAlarm 3.0. but have been running 2.6.0.362 for over 6 months without problem so far. I originally posted this to layout because the selection was listed as "Layout/Page Content", and as this crash happens after the page starts rendering, I took it to be related to something specific to the content of this page. I did debate b-g as the other choice--sorry if I misinterpreted the category meaning! Thanks to all for your assistance!
There is a bug in the nvidia driver on win9x systems. We try to add a workaround. Nvidia knows about the problem... There is a fixed test .dll for Mozilla 1.0 (not for 1.1) in the bug *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 128961 ***
