Bryce, I'm guessing you're the right person to take a look here?

All these crashes are happening on MacOS. The June 3rd start date coincides with the release of MacOS 10.15 Beta 1 which is confirmed by checking the platform version on the reports: 10.15.0 19A471t. Will reach out to Widevine for more info.

Edit: this info was in the original comment and I seem to have failed at parsing when I first read it.

Any progress on this?
Currently, I can't run neither open.spotify.com nor pandora.com because they serve DRM content

We're working with Widevine to resolve this. If Widevine need to ship a new build to resolve the issue (which is my current understanding), then we're limited in our ability to mitigate this until that time.

Adding another 10.15 specific signature.

Crash Signature: [@ libwidevinecdm.dylib@0x1042cf] → [@ libwidevinecdm.dylib@0x1042cf] [@ libwidevinecdm.dylib@0x10a0c0]

Hello Bryce - Do we have any update from widevine? Thanks.

It looks like these may be caused by sandboxing. I suspect that the work Haik is doing will resolve this. It should be up for review soon, after which we can verify if the crash rate reduces.

This is pretty low volume in 69 beta, but a bit more noticeable in the 68 release (but still small because of the 10.15 population).

I think this is a dupe of bug 1558924. Bug 1558924 fixed a macOS 10.15-specific crash in Widevine and is fixed in 70 and 69 at this time.

However, for Widevine playback to work on 10.15, the dependency bugs of 1558924 are also needed. In addition to the crash fix, other fixes are needed due to new library loading restrictions in 10.15.
