Details
I've had a "Local Folder" called "Beasley, H.A." for some time now off of the
root of my "Local Folder"'s. I made another folder called, "H.A. Beasley, CPA"
and attempted to move "Beasley, H.A." from the root into the newly created
folder. After doing so, the mail was no longer display within the "Beasley,
H.A." folder.
I played with it a little and finally manually (via the file system) rename the
folder file and it's corresponding ".msf" file to "Beasley, HA" and everything
came back. I imagine this has something to do with not properly escaping the
"."'s in the folder names.

not a mail database problem - the mail database doesn't get to pick file names;
that's up to the client code.
