On the Apple mailing list pages (see URL for an example), Find in Page does not work at all. This makes searching the mailing lists very frustrating!

Hrmm, it's actually wrap find that is broken. Making testcase.
Summary: Find does not work at all on some pages → Wrap find does not work at all on some pages

Look for the testcase in bug 155808. Layout actually gets really confused on those pages, so it's no surprise that Find doesn't work. Marking dependency.
Depends on: 155808

This one's Future until/unless the dependency gets a milestone.

how can a browser bug depend on an envangilism bug?????
The dependency has been resolved; Apple rewrote their list archives with less awful HTML. However, Mozilla still should be able to wrap find no matter how bad the page code is.

Here's another example of wrapping that doesn't work. Do a search for "calton". It find it twice, then, rather than wrapping, it simply says "The text you entered was not found." http://rss.com.com/2100-1016_3-1013530.html?type=pt&part=rss&tag=feed&subj=news Is this the same thing as this bug or something else? BTW: It's happening to me under Windows XP.

I'm having the same problem with an xml file: http://www.loc.gov/standards/mods/v3/mods85753651.xml
I am seeing this same problem in Seamonkey for WINDOWS v2.0.12 on MOST PAGES, including, for example, the facebook.com wall or any Wikipedia article. Steps to reproduce: 1) Display a facebook wall page. Note a word, such as the user's name, that appears more than once on the page 2) Press CTRL-F and type that word into the find box. 3) Click Find Next repeatedly, and successive occurrences of the word are found. 4) When Seamonkey reaches the bottom of the page, it stops and does not wrap around to the top. (If the Wrap checkbox is not checked, an error dialog box is shown.) 5) Each time Find Next is pressed ERROR CONSOLE displays: Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004003 (NS_ERROR_INVALID_POINTER) [nsIWebBrowserFind.findNext]" nsresult: "0x80004003 (NS_ERROR_INVALID_POINTER)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://global/content/finddialog.js :: onAccept :: line 105" data: no] I RECOMMEND that PLATFORM be changed to ALL and the dependency on the other bug removed.

Removing myself as assignee for editor bugs, since the editor project is (sadly) long gone.
