Motorola G5
Firefox Preview 1.0.1924 build 11611807
Android version 8.1.0 build OPP28.85-13

Repro steps

  1. Open Firefox Preview
  2. Navigate to hotels.com
  3. Touch "click" on the "Check in" or "Check out" date to open the date picker

Observed behavior

Date picker opens and immediately closes selecting the date under the click press location.

Expected behavior

The date picker opens and remains open until a date is selected by touch "click"

I can reproduce this with Geckoview Example. Bas, can you take a look?

Android version 9 build PQ2A.190205.002

This looks like a GV issue.

This bug is a duplicate of bug 1511154, found during last year's perceived performance study of Fennec. Makoto posted details from his investigation in that bug. It may be a race with LoadURIDelegate.load and touch event handling.
