Can you tell us more?
What did you see on startup of 67?
How did you update to 67?
If you go to about:profiles what profiles do you see and which one is marked as the default?
What did you see on startup of 67?:
When it started up, everything was gone. history, passwords, bookmarks, logins. it was like as if I installed it on a brand new computer. totally nuked my work environment.
How did you update to 67?:
I didn't, it was auto-update.
If you go to about:profiles what profiles do you see and which one is marked as the default?:
There are 'default-release' and 'default', none of them have my stuff. 'default-release' is being used

So you didn't see any kind of dialog or page open?

Can you go into the root directory of those (there's a button in about:profils to do that) and give me the contents of the times.json file for each?
This is the times.json {"created":1560299349299,"firstUse":1560299357596}
Btw, I'm seeing a 3rd directory there, it might have my stuff. How can I load that one?

Which profile is that for? Can you get me the times.json for the other?

What is the times.json on that one?
If you create a new profile from about:support and select that directory when it asks where to store it you will be able to use that.
that one (with the old values) doesn't have a times.json :/

I'm not really sure what could have happened here, we don't delete existing profiles in any case that I'm aware of but that appears to be what has happened here.
This might be my mistake, I force kill ff sometimes when it uses a lot of cpu/memory, I may have caused a bad state.
I am also fighting this issue. Used sqlite browser and see my bookmarks, but Firefox 67.0.2 64 bit (Linux Mint) does not display any bookmarks, will not display imported bookmarks, (even though it says bookmarks are imported) and displays an error about a file being used by some other application. This version broke bookmarks completely. None of the profile stuff in the help pages fixed anything. I did a uninstall with purge and deleted the .mozilla directory and did a reinstall. The problem persists. To re create just open the browser.

I have the same issue on Windows 10. My lapyop updated and when I restarted Firefox all on my bookmarks were gone. I have memory loss issues so this is particularly distressing for me! I am not very techie so I am at a loss what to do.
