Firefox loses external audio device when disconnected on Linux

Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:67.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/67.0
Steps to reproduce:
- On a computer with only a single internal audio device, connect to an external audio device.
- Set that audio device as the OS's default audio device to make Firefox play back audio through that. (System Settings -> Sound -> Output in Elementary OS.)
- Open Firefox and play back audio.
- Close Firefox (not sure if required).
- Disconnect audio device without setting a different one as a default for the OS.
- Open Firefox and attempt to play back audio.
Actual results:
After disconnecting the audio device, Firefox does not seem to find the only other audio device available on the system.
Restarting the browser, resetting Firefox and restarting the system does not solve the issue.
The OS assumes that the only device available is the default at this point and pressing "Test Speakers" in System Settings plays audio through that.
The only way to fix this in GUI is to reconnect an external audio device, select it as the default output device, then the built-in audio device and then Firefox will output audio through that.
Expected results:
Firefox should have played audio through the only audio device available after the default device was disconnected.

Hi @Alda Vigdís Skaphéðinsdóttir, I've checked on Ubuntu 18.04 -using release version 68.0 - but cannot reproduce. Please try your scenario in other browser, and rennder the results, if there happens like in FF, then the problem might be in your PC settings, not browser.
I will add a component to it, and further someone from dev's team could give us a hand with that.
Thanks.
