Do you happen to have a profile with more resolution? Hard to see what's really going on in that test-case. There's a bunch of time just freeing stuff, but I don't know if it's just where the profile happened to pause.

That still doesn't show a lot, but it shows we're spending a bunch of time freeing old styles, and then a bit on layout code doing overflow computation.
I'll take a look, over to the queue.
