Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.14; rv:68.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/68.0
Steps to reproduce:
When I type apple.pear
in address bar and press enter,
Actual results:
it tries to visit the website as a URL
Expected results:
but instead, it should search for it. Why? .pear
is not in the TLD list. Since there are two options for the search bar:
- Use the same text field
- Have a separate text field for searches
for the users who have chosen the first option, Firefox should check TLD list to decide between searching and visiting.
