User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:68.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/68.0
Steps to reproduce:
In Preferences -> Colors...
Set "Override the colors specified by the page with your selections above" to Always.
Set "Text" and "Link Colors" to white.
Set "Background" to black.
Actual results:
Text fields (single line and multiline) and buttons do not respect the color selections.
This results in black on black text fields and buttons which are totally unreadable or sometimes black on white text fields and buttons which are difficult to read for visually impaired users like myself.
This problem started happening after updating to version 68.0.
Expected results:
Before the update to v68.0 the text fields and buttons were white on black as expected.

Hi,
I have managed to reproduce this issue on latest FF release 68.0.1, Beta version 69.0b10 and Nightly 70.0a1 (2019-08-05) using Ubuntu 18.04 and Windows 10.
Further, I will move this over to a component so developers can take a look over it. I'm not sure if this is the correct component, so if it's not, please feel free to change it to an appropriate one.
@Shawn McMurdo, it might be useful to attach a screenshot with the issue on your side.
Thanks for the report.

Hi Alin, do you think you could help us find a regression range?

Hi,
Unfortunately I can't find any regression range because I don't know exactly what is the behavior that occurs on reporter's end.
I attach here a screenshot of what I see, but this is not a recent regression and the behavior is the same on Windows 10.
The input text is black on a black background even if I set the text color to white, like in the photo that reporter attached. Also the "Log in" button is unreadable. But this occurs also in the previous versions of FF.
@Shawn McMurdo, can you please attach a screenshot with the issue on your side?
Thanks.

I have attached a screenshot of the bugzilla login page showing text fields, check box, and buttons all displaying the problem. Let me know if you need any particular page or example. Thanks for looking into this!

Happy to take a patch for 70 or beyond.
Since we are getting close to the end of the 69 beta cycle and this is set to P3, I'm marking it fix-optional for 69 and 70 to remove it from weekly triage.

Tested this issue on Ubuntu 18.04 and Win 8.1 x64 using Firefox builds from 49 and newer, seems the issue reproducible on every build, this issue is not a regression. If I am wrong, then I will ask @Shawn McMurdo to attach a screenshot with the build without issue ?
Thanks!

This was happening in some circumstances for a long time but seemed to get more prevalent around version 68.

On Ubuntu it may be seen the text somehow, but barely, the input text is dark grey on black background, on Windows platform and on macOS nothing can be seen with settings from description, black text on black background.
So this is not a regression, this issue is present on every build, all platforms.
If you are agree with me the regression and regression window wanted keyword can be removed.
I will attach a screenshot with ubuntu issue, on Fx 71.0.
