RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1380027

People

(Reporter: shivasena07, Unassigned, NeedInfo)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_5) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/75.0.3770.100 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce:

opened a web application in FireFox, turned on Voice over in mac, tabbed through the web page.

Actual results:

Voice over only reads content in the address bar and Library button is the last thing it hits. After this, even though the application seems to highlight various text fields, voice over does not read the content within.

Expected results:

I'd expect voice over to read the content within the application as well. This works as expected in Safari and Chrome

Hi Shiva,

Could you specify if this happens with a specific web application or is this a general issue? We'd like to investigate this on our end, could you please provide us with specific steps and the name of the web application?

Also, please verify if this issue is also reproducible on the latest Firefox Nightly version. You can download it from here: https://nightly.mozilla.org/.

If you still have the issue please create a new profile, you have the steps here:https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=Managing-profiles#w_starting-the-profile-manager

If there is any other info you can provide to help us figure out how we can can reproduce the issue please share them.

Thanks for your contribution.

Hi Virginia,

I first started testing with our applications internally. However, it seems to be the case with all websites. I tried google.com and gmail.
On the nightly version that was provided, I could see the tab was moving to various places within the web application, however, voice over does not read the content within the application. So, it is reproducible on the latest version on firefox as well.

Thanks,
Shiva.

Hi Shiva,

Thank you for your feedback.

Could send us a screen recording of the issue? it would be of great help.

If this is happening on other websites, could you specify which steps you are following? This way we can try to reproduce it on our end and investigate. In the meantime, I'll add a product and component so the corresponding team can take a look at this report. Feel free to change the component for a more appropriate one.

Thanks,
