For feeds with file: URL, disable the "Validate" button. See bug 1569797 comment #22.

From Bug 1569797, and strictly speaking, the 'second part' is needed to test for a directory. Since bz has no interest in xhr not throwing on a malformed scheme, and in general the project isn't one where taking care of disastrous user entry errors is a concern, the way I would do it is add an edit check to Subscribe for that part. Maybe I'll do these after Bug 1017904 lands.
