Instead of using 500ms delay, close the panel popup when the content of the page visibility begins to refresh.
I'm hoping we can make it look like the refresh of the page causes the panel to close. Once the page has been refreshed the small blue confirmation toast should be shown.
*This only affects the time the panel popup closes, everything else can stay the way it's been implemented.
