Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:68.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/68.0
Steps to reproduce:
- I run Slack, Discord, my mail client, docker with Hyper-v, IDE, and editors to code in my project.
- There are 30+ open tabs (4 of them are pinned) in Firefox; I listen to music on YouTube Music.
- Sometimes I stop the music and watch something on YouTube or Linkedin.
System Info:
- Windows 10 1903, including last updates
- Nvidia GTX 1060, 6GB with latest drivers
- 4K, 3840 x 2160 resolution, 250% scaling
Actual results:
It's stuttering but not only Firefox. All applications; editors, mail client, slack, even notepad. Sometimes the PC doesn't respond when I use the keyboard and mouse.
Expected results:
It's a typical usage on my PC, and I don't reproduce this problem in these cases:
- I tried to use Chromium Edge for some days. There's no problem.
- I tried to use Firefox with an external FHD monitor. All is working well.
So I want to use Firefox with internal 4K screen without stuttering.

Hi,
I thank you for the details on opening this bug. If you have firefox closed, do all the other app work fine? or they stutter even with Firefox closed?
Thanks, Flor.

Hi @Florencia,
Thank you for your interest. Yes, I'm sure that the problem is Firefox-specific because when I tried the same scenarios with the other browsers, I can't reproduce the problem. When I closed Firefox, all the other apps are working fine.
And there is one more thing to reproduce the problem. The screen should be 4K. If I try the same usage testing with an external monitor which have 1920 x 1080 resolution, all is working perfect, even in Firefox.

Thanks for the reply. So this seems to be a duplicate of bug 1549901. That bug is older and people are already working on fixing it. Nonetheless, thanks for taking the time of answering me.
Best regards, Flor.
