Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.9; rv:69.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/69.0
Build ID: 20190812173625

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Launch Firefox
  2. Navigate to Amazon Prime and log in
  3. In different tabs, open 3 amazon videos
  4. After a while (approximately 10 minutes) close the 3 videos

Expected results:
After step 3, a plugin-container process is running. After the videos are closed, the plugin-container process is closed.

Actual results:
Sometimes, after the videos are closed, the plugin-container process remains opened.
The issue is intermittent, I managed to reproduce it so far on Mac OS X 10.9, Mac OS X 10.10 and Mac OS X 10.12 using Firefox 69 beta 14.

Component: Security: Process Sandboxing → Audio/Video: GMP

As this issue is intermittent and seems only happening on certain OS versions (I couldn't reproduce it on Night70 on Mac OSX 10.14), I will mark this bug as P3 temporarily.

Bryce,
Do you have any idea about this issue?
Thank you.

Flags: needinfo?(bvandyk)
Priority: -- → P3

Sounds like an issue with the gmp machinery not getting signaled appropriately, but beyond that I don't have any immediate insight.

Simona, when you say close the 3 videos, you're closing the tabs with those videos in them?
