User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.14; rv:68.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/68.0
Steps to reproduce:
Often when I create a new account, Firefox doesn't present the right information for saving the username/password pair in my saved passwords. For instance, I just created a new account at bugzilla.mozilla.org, and Firefox offered to save my login information with user <My Name> and the password I had entered. But the login should have been my email + password. While this is a bug, it is not the bug I am logging here.
The bug I am logging is that I cannot go to another program (my password manager), copy the email from that program, and then enter it in the dialog, because the dialog goes away.
Actual results:
When the save new password dialog is active (it looks like a thought balloon descending from the key icon in the address bar), and I switch to another program, the password dialog is closed as soon as Firefox is no longer the front-most program.
Expected results:
The save new password dialog should stay active when Firefox is no longer the front-most program, and continue to stay active when Firefox is brought to the front, so the user can paste into the username and password fields, and fix errors in the (Firefox) proposed values of those fields.

Bugbug thinks this bug should belong to this component, but please revert this change in case of error.

When it closes can't you re-open it with the key icon?

Yes. I would never have thought to click there, but, yes, it works and I'll use that in the future.
I'll let you decide whether to delete this bug report, or turn it into comment on the user interface and/or documentation.
Thank you, Matthew.
