From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20020710 BuildID: 20020710 I have noticed that print preview and print often disagree. In particular when I try to print yahoo "text" driving directions, often the number of lines that appear on the page differs between the two. Furthermore, I have noticed that changing the text size (for example, by using a mouse wheel) has no effect on either print preview or print. It seems like one should be able to change the screen font size and have that affect printing. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.go to yahoo maps, get some driving directions and go to the text version of the directions. 2. Compare print preview and print - not always the same, especially if you use non-default setting for in the Preferences->Appearance->Fonts. 3. Change the screen text size using Ctrl-+ or wheel mouse and try print preview again. No effect. Actual Results: Printed material does not reflect screen font size. Expected Results: Printed material should use same fonts as screen
Reporter can you reproduce this bug with a newer build (1.4 final)? If not, then please close this bug as worksforme. Thanks.
I can confirm with Mozilla 1.6 final, that printout can differ from the print preview. The page in the attachment is shown wrongly (the gaps and lines around links) but is printed correctly.
I'm using Mozilla 1.7 RC1 and printing makes the same problems since Mozilla 1.x. - Print and Print Preview differs e.g. In Print Preview you see one Page and printed are two. Try to print this page: http://www.nnanime.com/azumanga/azu1-015b.html You will get two pages printed. One good and one which includes the same pictures but upset to 100 Pixel height. Reproducible: Always System 1: WinNT4 SP6 . Printer: HP MV4 Laser System 2: WinXP SP1 . Printer: Epson Stylus Color 600 Actual Results: One damaged print in addition. Pictures upset. Expected Results: Printout and PrintPreview should be the same.
In print preview you see only one page but there will be a second with a damaged picture.
Attachment #147834 - Attachment description: PDF shows the result of printing one page. → PNG shows the result of printing one page.
I can confirm this behaviour in Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040616

I'm seeing something similar to this where an HTML 4 page saved via AbiWord displays just fine in Mozilla but when I view the print preview, the centered heading at the top is no longer centered but left justified.
This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. I haven't seen this bug in a long time, but just on the day of the auto-resolve message, I saw it again: I tried to print the google maps api docs at http://www.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/, the preview shows 13 pages (with an ugly gray box over the first page), while actually printing the document produces 18 pages (without the ugly grey box). This is Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050922 Firefox/1.0.4 (Ubuntu package 1.0.7)
Unable to reproduce this bug on Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050915 Firefox/1.0.7 Steps to reproduce: - Go to http://www.nnanime.com/azumanga/azu1-015b.html - Select print preview - Print page Actual results: preview shows two pages, actual print on two pages Expected results: preview shows two pages, actual print on two pages
please try a trunk build and report back - i think it's fixed http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/ knocked off "font size" from summary - that's a different bug

closing this bug invalid. The original reporter is gone, the report attempts to address multiple issues, for a 3 year old build, and has since become a sink for multiple symptoms and multiple OSes. If you have a print preview problem using a current release (1.5 is now current), skim the long list of preview bugs (below) and if one matches your OS and symptoms hook up to it. If not, please file a new bug with good detail and if possible test with a nightly trunk build to see first if it's fixed on trunk. Please only one specific problem in each bug report.
