Details

I have a local machine (named "foo"). I often want to go to it, so I have a bookmark for "http://foo/". If I'm not on my network, and I hit this bookmark, I am redirected to "www.foo.com". If I had meant to type that, I would have. There should be some level of user configuration of the automatic "corrections" to URL's. In my case, I never in a million years want "www" or ".com" added to a URL, but I might not mind if "hostname" were translated to "http://hostname/".
I strongly beleive we had a switch to disable it somewhere, and even a list of preffixes and suffixes to try...
