From Ana:
- A notification is sent to the device that was disconnected.
- We are not sending notifications to all connected devices.
- The message content should be: Firefox Account, <device name> has been successfully disconnected.

I'm not sure this is valuable. We've never done it in the past.
A good rule of thumb for these notifications is "what harm might happen if a user is not aware of this happening". In the case of new connections to the account, the harm would be that the user might not be expecting the new connection - it could be someone breaking into their account. However, this doesn't really apply in the case of a disconnect. So I don't actually see much value in this.
Ryan, WDYT?

To be clear: we do show a notification when this device was disconnected remotely (ie, via accounts.firefox.com). We do not show a notification when:
-
This device was disconnected from about:preferences (which makes sense - no point showing a notification about something that was just explicitly done on this device)
-
Some other device was disconnected from the account.
I assume this bug is about the last item.

I mean… it's sure handy for Sync Fest and QA, but yeah, I tend to agree.
The only case that a notification makes sense is when the user disconnect the current device from FxA Settings.
