On UNIX platforms (Linux and IRIX at least), the mozilla 1.0 startup
script attempts to deduce a value for an unset MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME by
dereferencing symlinks, but it doesn't work. I will be attaching a
patch to fix it momentarily.

this was fixed, then unfixed, then re-fixed. 1.0 was released during the period
of unfixiness.
