User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/76.0.3809.132 Safari/537.36 OPR/63.0.3368.94

Steps to reproduce:

I installed other software (uTorrent), and it installed Opera browser without my knowing.

Actual results:

That is fine, but what's more scary, when I opened Opera, I found that it knows all my passwords saved in Firefox!!!!!!!! That is so scary!

Expected results:

passwords saved in Firefox should stay within Firefox and should not be stolen by Opera!

I'm fairly sure this is expected if you haven't set a master password. Matt?

Product: Firefox → Toolkit

That’s correct since desktop operating systems historically haven’t provided good ways to segregate data stored by separate applications. Opera can read from Firefox’s profile folder and since you have no master password it can decrypt the passwords.
