I thought this was what was meant in bug 1585713. If you zoom slowly on some text you can see glyphs jumping around, especially noticeable is that the spacing between adjacent glyphs changes. I think this is probably due to snapping.

I'm pretty sure this has been fixed by Andrew's snapping work, I haven't noticed it on nightly recently. I think we should close this, and if I do notice it again we can reopen.
Andrew, do you have the bug number which fixed this, so we can mark this as a dup/depends-on?
