RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1549204

People

(Reporter: bosuqiccn9nl, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.0

Steps to reproduce:

only ff update
today 60.9.0esr

because also my company will close all ff instances, instead of then after change to w10 only hardening chrome (without extensions).
Than I found that ff is only in Germany a little more on market. But seems all over global regions I could not find increasing communities of ff-users and of course also of ff-developers.
Thats why for me it is a importent question in which goals the policy of ff consists.
Please explain me, what a benefit I find in a furhtermoor using of ff at home?
Is it realy that ff will come back to global intrusion of "only chrome/edge" landscape?

  • mosaic was my first -
one of your older longtime users

good luck

Actual results:

to much ...

Expected results:

  • stable browsing with a user expierience of 2019
  • say transparently to your user community what is the benefit of ff (I think, to make a clear 10 point manifest)
  • and last not least: what can the mozillas do, to bring ff as a killer - app to the public sector? So e.g. in thuringia (germany) in august a law was singend ("Vergabegesetz"), that open Source will in future be definitely a cause for getting pub-finance. I think this is the first time, that OSS "as part" of a official act or law apears.

I'll add product and component so the corresponding team can take a look at this.

Component: Untriaged → DOM: Security
Product: Firefox → Core

ESR 60.9 is about 2 years old and no longer supported as of today with the release of ESR 68.2, is no longer supported.

Unfortunately "containers" is still a somewhat experimental feature, implemented by installing a Web Extension, and that has introduced some race conditions. It is far more reliable if you use the "Nightly" version of Firefox where containers is natively enabled.
